Among the Current Trends in Hair Color is a technique called Sombre Hair Color. The Sombre method of color infusion basically involves a color graduation from light at the roots to darker at the ends, or from dark at the roots to lighter at the ends. It can also be achieved on Shorter Hair by using a deeper shade on the underneath portion and a brighter, more vibrant shade overlapping. This Technique can range from being extremely subtle to extremely dramatic, depending on the depths of color chosen and the desired results. It is also often done using Fantasy Hair Colors like Pink, Bright Blue, Purple, or Radiant Reds, just to name a few.



Another beautiful trend is Colored Highlights or Colored Low lights. Rather then just creating routine Highlights or Lowlights, this method uses a complimentary color to enhance your look and create dimension. Again, this can range from Subtle, Blended Hints of color, to Bold, Dramatic Pops of color that shout confidence!

While I applaud and support a spirit of "do it yourself", I have to say that these techniques are best left to hair color professionals, as they can be quite tricky. Many of the effects require that hair be bleached to a certain tone prior to applying the color in order to get the results that you want to achieve. If you have previously used Box Color on your hair, Bleaching it could cause Substantial Breakage unless proper precautions are taken.
